Outreach assists forest products industries including round wood operations, engineered wood products manufacturers, and woodworking facilities like cabinet shops and furniture and pallet manufacturers. Outreach aids these industries by reducing the generation of waste and recovering and marketing waste products generated at these facilities.

Technical Assistance
On-site technical assessments are free and non-regulatory. Outreach aims to reduce waste production, reuse byproducts, and recover costs. Outreach can help identify the best uses for byproducts, and possibly match industries with a buyer.
Resources
UGA has extensive laboratory facilities at its three campuses. These labs can test everything from wood ash content to alternative by-product uses.
Forest Products Industry
Outreach has worked with many companies within the "forest products industry" category. This includes OSB plants that need to reduce
air emissions from RTOs, saw mills that have no outlet for waste wood ash, yard debris and off spec material, and corrugated box plants that need energy audits.
